Introduction To The Terms And Conditions

The following terms (the "Terms") apply to any use by a visitor (the "User") of the Social Cinematics (SoCiMa) Limited Web Site (the "Web Site"), and should be read carefully before any such use. SoCiMa is the Band & copyright of Social Cinematics and is used to represent Social Cinematics (SoCiMa) Limited.
By accessing or using the Web Site, the User accepts and agrees to be legally bound by these Terms and acknowledges that Social Cinematics (SoCiMa) Limited, as the owner and operator of the Web Site, has the right to amend or vary these Terms and any of the contents of the Web Site from time to time at its sole discretion. Amendments or variations will take effect when they are posted on the Web Site and, as a result, the User should check the current version of the Terms each time he/she uses the Web Site. These Terms, as amended or varied from time to time, apply to all use of and access to the Web Site, both now and in the future.
Additional terms and conditions may apply for any purchases made through the Web Site and any third party we used to represent SoCiMa with our consent. If so, you will be prompted to view such additional terms and conditions on our Web Site at the time of such purchases and those terms and conditions will apply in addition to these Terms to the extent that the context permits.

What payment methods and credit/debit cards do you accept?

Purchasing tickets for a SoCiMa Event is through an online third party eTicket company they accept all major credit cards payments however if there is a card they do not accept then were sorry and alternative payment method will be needed. Unfortunately we do not accept payment by cheque. 99% of all tickets purchasing will be from eTicket portal however we may have alternative onsite payment systems on premises however notification will be via our website.

How do I know if my booking is confirmed?

You will also receive an email to confirm your booking. If the confirmation page does not display, you should check your email system to see if you have been sent the confirmation email. All verification and confirmation will be undertaken via the eTicket system.

Once I have booked tickets online, how do I collect them?

You will receive an email with the ticket attached, you cannot collect you ticket at any SoCiMa event. You must remember to bring the card used during the booking process as this will be required to locate and issue your booking. Please ensure that you arrive well in advance of the performance to allow time to pick up your tickets. If you arrive after the performance has started, admission may be refused to avoid distraction to the guests already seated in the cinema.

Alternative Screening

SoCiMa seeks to screen its advertised program, it reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a performance or to substitute an alternative film or presentation, if forced to do so by circumstances beyond its control.
If a film showing or other presentation is cancelled, rescheduled or substituted, the SoCiMa Managers will have the sole discretion to decide whether to refund customers the cost of their tickets or to issue replacement tickets for the same film or presentation at an alternative time.

Admission Restrictions

SoCiMa will refuse admission to any person who, in the opinion of an authorized SoCiMa Mangers, employee or representative, is under the minimum age required by the BBFC classification for a presentation and cannot prove that they are at least the minimum age required. SoCiMa expressly reserves the right to request photographic identification verifying the age of the customer (e.g. a driving Licence or passport) for entry into 12A, 15 and 18 certificated films. Photocopies of birth certificates, (together with a form of photographic identification connecting the name on the birth certificate to the customer), passports and driving licenses are acceptable. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 18 years of age to be admitted after 7.00pm. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 18 years of age at all times (regardless of film classification).
In order to avoid disturbing other customers, customers who arrive after the start of the feature presentation will only be permitted entry into the auditorium at the SoCiMa Managers discretion.
SoCiMa reserves the right to refuse the entry onto its premises of any person who is believed to be intoxicated and may require any person or customer who is believed to be intoxicated to leave the premises immediately without any entitlement to a refund.
No customer is allowed to bring any illegal substances or weapons onto the premises. Anyone found in possession of such items will be refused entry or will be required to leave the premises immediately without any entitlement to a refund. SoCiMa takes such matters seriously and may report the incident to the police or any other law enforcement organization / agency.
In order to comply with applicable health and safety legislation, customers must at all times remain within the public areas of the premises and must not obstruct the aisles with personal belongings.

What forms of age related ID are acceptable?

SoCiMa can only allow admission to films in accordance with the certificate of the film and we are required to check the age of anyone who looks (or we believe may be) underage. If you look younger than the age required for a film you may be asked to provide some ID. Unfortunately we are unable to simply take someone's word on their age or the age of someone in their party. This ID must include a photo and ideally should be one of the following: Passport, Photo Driving Licence, Student Card/School Pass with Photo and DOB, Validate UK card, or age related scheme (such as the UK PASS-Scheme card, Prove-it Portman Card or Citizen Card of the Irish governments "Age Card").

What does each ticket mean?

The tickets mean what it indicates e.g. if you purchase and evening ticket then you can only attend and evening event as outlined on the SoCiMa Cinema events page and on the ticket and the same for the afternoon. They are not transferable between dates, times, venues or any other specified or unspecified eventualities. Your ticket is for that day, time and venue only.

When can I use the e-ticket?

You can use the e-ticket whenever you have made a booking online only for the event listed on the ticket for which you have purchased for, your cannot buy a ticket for an event on e.g. 28th of January and use it on the 28th of February unless otherwise specified e.g. open ticket. If you have booked more than one ticket and some members of your party do not intend to come to the cinema together, they will need to collect their individual tickets from you or the any designated person of your choosing.

If I am running late for the film will my seat be held?

Once your purchase has been confirmed, your seats are held for you until the start of the performance time as published, and will not be sold to another guest. Therefore, advance payment is required for all confirmed bookings, irrespective of whether the tickets are collected or not. Please note that on occasion entry will be delayed for late arrivals in order to minimize distractions to the already seated audience so please be SoCiMable and arrive at a suitable time for all convenience however we understand that time is not always one's friend.

Can I take a baby into the cinema? Do I have to pay for them?

We try to accommodate children as best we can however not all venues are mother and baby specific facilities, unfortunately and some of our SoCiMa events may admit babies for U, PG or 12A films. However we implore you to ask that you consider others when bringing your children to the SoCiMa Cinema, if he/she becomes distressed we request that you take them out of the auditorium forthwith please. For babes in arms under 2 years of age there is no charge, however if the child takes up a seat you will be asked to pay for the ticket.

Cancellation / Refund

Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds however you can transfer your ticket to someone else by emailing society@socima.co (subject transfer of ticket) with your Name, Prove of Purchase and unique ID (printed on the ticket) and the name of the person you will to transfer it too. Ticket prices may change between the date of purchase and the date of the relevant performance. Where the price paid for the tickets differs to the price for equivalent tickets available for purchase at the time and date of the performance, SoCiMa will not charge for and customers may not claim any refund of the difference.

Ticket Availability

Tickets are subject to availabilities and we listed them 4 weeks in advance of the specific date of screening however this may change due to venue changes, screening changes, sold out event, etc. so please constantly check the website for ticket availability.

Why can't I book a specific seat?

For performances you are able to choose from all the available seats in that section (e.g. Standard) however if available there is a special seating available (e.g. VIP) then it will be displayed on your ticket(s) and a SoCiMable will escort you to the seating area however this is not guaranteed and you will you see the available options when purchasing a ticket. When buying a ticket its subject to availability at the time of sale and the VIP or standard ticket may not be available to purchase so we encourage to purchase in advance.

Do you show captioned films for the hard of hearing?

Whenever a film is released with captions for the hard of hearing we do try to schedule it at our SoCiMa events , however due to the limited number of copies available we are not able to show it at all our SoCiMa events (especially if it the captioned version has already been shown at a nearby cinema). Captioned for hard of hearing and Audio Described performances will be listed so you can choose these specific performances. This is subject to and depending on availability if we get enough people requesting and that film / documentary is available we'll endeavor to show.

Data Protection

We SoCiMa take data protection very seriously and we don't collect any data other that which you disclosure e.g. questionnaires and that data is not given to any third party organization of any sort, of any sort. NO DATA DISTRIBUTION.
We value your trust and appreciate the fact you're trusting us with your data so if you choose to disclose we thank you for your trust. When purchasing an eTicket you are subject to the terms and condition and data protection of the organization and we have chosen and very ethical company whom will not share you data either.

Social Behavior

SoCiMa reserves the right to require customers who are disruptive, antisocial or violent to leave the cinema immediately without any entitlement to a refund. What constitutes disruptive, antisocial or violent behavior shall be determined at the sole discretion of the SoCiMa Managers and includes both physical and verbal abuse. We do not tolerate any physical and security will use what they deem necessary to remove any person(s) from the venue and you'll be stop from attending any and all SoCiMa Events.

Alcohol and Food

Neither alcohol nor hot food may be brought onto the premises unless specified as each venue has different requirements and we must abide by them. Only hot food bought on the premises may be consumed on the premises. Alcohol may only be purchased and consumed in SoCiMa events at the licensed bar areas or in licensed screens and licensing laws will be strictly enforced however subject to the terms and condition of each venue. Will inform all patrons via our website and at the SoCiMa events whether alcohol will be available at each premises.

Mobile Devices:

All mobile devices including mobile telephones must be switched off at all times during the featured screening/presentation. Anyone using their mobiles or any recording device of any sort during the screening will be remove from the premises forthwith without refund or negotiation as you're in direct violation screening laws.

Piracy

Customers are not allowed to bring any form of recording, streaming or copying equipment (in whatever medium, including optical devices such as Google Glasses) into the any Hall, Theatre or auditorium to which SoCiMa is screening. Recording or copying equipment taken into the SoCiMa Cinema Room may be confiscated for inspection by the SoCiMa Managers and/or SoCiMables. Customers are reminded that it is a serious criminal offence to copy or attempt to copy any film, soundtrack or other copyright protected material shown in the auditorium and customers found in contravention will be liable on conviction to an unlimited fine and imprisonment of up to 10 years.

Certification:

SoCiMa is not responsible for the certification of adverts, trailers or films. All complaints in respect of the wrongful classification of any of these items should be directed to the British Board of Film Classification (the BBFC).

Search & Safety

SoCiMa reserves the right to search a customer's possessions whilst on the premises for any item which a SoCiMable (staff member) believes may contravene these terms and conditions. Customers must consent to being searched for any item which a SoCiMable (staff member) believes may contravene these terms and conditions. SoCiMa reserves the right to refuse entry or require a customer to leave without entitlement to a refund if consent is not given.

Parking:

SoCiMa is not responsible for the parking regulations imposed by third parties, including any cost imposed on customers. if there is a parking issue then Customers should take up any issues directly with the third party concerned or inform us and we'll notify the third party however we cannot guarantee an outcome of any sort and nor we pursue over zealously.

Personal Possessions

Customers must keep their personal belongings with them at all times. SoCiMa accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft, alteration or damage to any personal items brought onto the premises.
Customers are not permitted to smoke on the premises of any SoCiMa cinematics this includes any form of electronic cigarette or other artificial smoking devices. SoCiMa reserves the right to require any person or customer found to be in contravention of this rule to leave the premises immediately without any entitlement to a refund.
